HONDA
A third generation Dunsandel landmark Happers Garage
(renamed Happers Honda in 1978) continues a proud record of service
to a wide surrounding district.
Started by Ivan and Peg Happer in the late 1940s Ivan
worked from a cramped shed behind the family home. The business then
moved to the current site on the Main South Road. Ivan expanded the
business into a busy service station/workshop and later branched into
second hand motor vehicle, truck and tractor sales.
Ivan’s son Robert joined the business in 1965
completing his apprenticeship. In 1976 Robert and his wife Sandra leased
the business, purchasing it a couple of years later. Robert shared Ivan’s
love of motorcycles and saw the potential in Honda motorcycles for use
on farms and gained a full dealership in 1978.
History repeated itself and Robert’s son Brent
served his apprenticeship and is now a partner in the business. Honda
ATV, farm and trail motorcycles make up the bulk of sales and workshop
work with an onfarm- service available. Rob and Brent’s combined
fifty plus years of motorcycle experience ensure clients a first class
job at a competitive price.
